Yard Sale on Essex Day

Jumbo yard sale tomorrow! Amid the rainy, muddy mess we took a break from carpentry and painting and stone wall building to prepare for our big yard sale this Saturday, August 5 from 9-4 and Sunday, August 6 from 10-12. That’s right, we will be hosting a recycling sale this weekend to coincide with Essex Day, our annual community-wide summer festival. Hope to see you!

In addition to a decade and a half of sporting equipment, books, clothing, and miscellaneous housewares we will be re-homing lots of architectural salvage, building supplies, tools, equipment, and furniture. In the photograph above Glen and Supi are fueling, starting, and testing various lawn care and gardening gizmos to ensure that everything is in working order. Tiller, mower, generator, walk behind trimmer, edger, and a whole lot more. After seventeen years it’s time to downsize and pass along the goodies to others. What do you need?

Pam, Susan, and I assembled signs and staked them around town to complement flyers posted earlier in the week. and the good folks from our local tent company set up a mini circus tent on Rosslyn’s north lawn yo protect everything from rain. Actually, this weekend is supposed to be uncharacteristically, sunny and dry. I sure hope so.
