Come again another day.
Rain, rain go away
Little Johnny wants to play.
But the rain has obeyed, hasn’t come another day. It’s come darn near every day. And our rowboat, sadly swampy with rotting leaves dispersing tannic pigment into the stagnant water is testament to the slow, persistent victory of nature over our humanly wants.

Maybe a micropoem will hatch from this boggy tisane of cottonwood leaves and rainwater, misty mornings and sunshiny afternoons. Like mosquito larvae wiggling to the surface, almost but not quite ready to fly…
