A mid morning meditation on enclosure inspired by ongoing deliberations on the height and porosity of the privacy fence that will screen the mechanicals, propane tank, etc. behind the carriage barn (south of the icehouse terrace).

So much
depends upon
a border
enfolding,
a frame
defining,
a hedge or
a tree line
screening,
veiling,
a yard
encompassing,
a paddock
or a sty
containing,
a ring
encircling,
a cage
confining,
a courtyard’s
sanctuary
sheltering,
a harbor
protecting,
an embrace
welcoming and
nurturing and
heartening with
affection.
So much
depends upon
a fence.

Thank you, Pam and Steve, for collaborating on this quirky quest — Too low? Too high? Too porous? Too opaque? — to evaluate and troubleshoot and fine tune before we begin to fabricate. It’s all in the details! (And the patience…)
