These eight 4’ to 5’ tall evergreens will grow into a hedge over the coming years, layering a living screen in front of the privacy fence that encloses the mechanicals located west of the carriage barn. This combination of softscape and hardscape, architectural and garden elements, built and natural environment, harmonize to define a private and intimate exterior living space.

Subtly integrating the constituent parts of this property has been one of the most rewarding challenges across our years at Rosslyn. Braiding buildings and grounds into a cohesive whole, weaving two centuries of diverse homeowner preferences into an aesthetically and functionally cogent and appealing tapestry, these have have been our ambition and our reward. Many small incremental steps forward.
